This Privacy Policy describes how Auto DeepRag ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer of the application Edis (the "App"), collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you install or use the App in connection with your e-commerce store or website (collectively, the "Platform").

1. Applicability

This policy applies to merchants and users across all supported platforms, including but not limited to Shopify and custom direct integrations.

2. Information We Collect

To function as an AI shopping partner, the App accesses data from the Merchant (you) and the End User (your customers).

A. Information from Merchants

When you install the App or integrate Edis with your store, we strictly access data necessary for the App's functionality via your Platform's APIs:

  • Store Content: Product titles, descriptions, prices, images, and inventory levels (to power the AI knowledge base).
  • Store Policies: Shipping, return, and payment policies (to answer support questions).
  • Account Info: Your name, email, store URL, and currency settings.

B. Information from End Users (Your Customers)

When a customer interacts with the Edis widget on your store:

  • Chat Logs: We collect queries sent to the AI and the AI's generated responses.
  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, and time zone to facilitate the connection.
  • Contextual Data: If provided by your Platform, we may access authenticated identifiers (e.g., Customer ID) to provide personalized recommendations.
  • Cookies & Local Storage: We use browser Local Storage to maintain the chat history as the customer navigates between pages on your website.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:

  • Service Provision: To index your products in our vector database and generate AI responses.
  • Service Improvement: To analyze anonymized chat logs for accuracy and debugging.
  • Communication: To send you (the Merchant) billing, technical, or security notifications.

No Secondary Use: We do not use Merchant or End User data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than providing the App's functionality. We do not sell your data.

4. Sharing Your Information (Sub-processors)

To provide our service, we share data with specific third-party sub-processors:

  • Your Platform Provider: The platform hosting your store (e.g., Shopify) will have access to data processed by the App as per their own privacy policies.
  • Google Gemini / Anthropic Claude: Used to generate natural language responses. (Data is sent specifically for response generation).
  • Qdrant: Used to securely store your product vectors and product meta data.
  • MongoDB: Used to securely store integration details.

5. International Data Transfers

Auto DeepRag is located in Australia. Furthermore, our sub-processors may process data in the United States or other jurisdictions. By using the App, you acknowledge that your Personal Information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions outside of your own, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). We rely on standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions where applicable.

6. Data Retention

  • Merchant Data: Retained for the duration of your active subscription or installation. If you uninstall Edis or terminate your account, your store data and access tokens are deleted from our systems within 30 days.
  • Chat Logs: Retained for 90 days for analytics and history, after which they are anonymized.

7. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, & APP)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, California, or Australia, you have specific rights regarding your personal data.

  • Merchants: You can request data deletion by uninstalling the App or contacting us at the email below.
  • End Users: We act as a processor on behalf of the Merchant. End users should contact the Merchant directly to exercise their rights. We will assist the Merchant in fulfilling valid deletion requests.
